Have you ever wondered if eating certain foods could actually boost your sex drive? Some particular foods proves an immediate and/or delayed boost in our sexual desires and physical responses. Here is a list of foods that promise to give you a natural boost in sex drive:

  •  Banana is considered as a healthy snack for weight loss as well as a food that enhances your sexual life. Bananas are loaded with vitamins and minerals that are excellent for skin, muscle spasms, normalises heart functions, and great for improving eye health.

There are two reasons for bananas as sex food:

  • Caffeine has been said to enhance sexual arousal. Caffeine can put you in the mood. We might think twice next time we drink it during our morning meeting.


  • Sweet potatoes is not just for eating, it is also a good "sex" food. Your body transforms the beta-carotene found in the vegetable into vitamin A, which keeps your vagina and uterus in good shape, plus helps produce sex hormones.


  • Eating chocolate makes us happy because it tastes so good. Chocolate contains theobromine, a stimulating alkaloid similar to caffeine. It also produces serotonin, which makes us feel good.


  • Pumpkin seeds are one of nature's richest sources of zinc, which is said to elevate testosterone levels.


  • According to Indian researchers, nutmeg extract is an aphrodisiac. It stimulates nerve cells and blood circulation, which boosts sexual desire.


  • Like oatmeal and pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds have a similar effect to boost hormone levels and sex drive, because of the good oils they contain.


  • Fatty fish has been linked to increasing sex drive. Try mackerel, herring, trout, sardines, and albacore tuna, which contain the omega-3 fatty acid. That's one reason why men struggling with low libido take a fish oil supplement.

  • Avocado fruit has B6 and potassium which gives the system a sexual boost.

  • Fresh ginger stimulates your circulatory system which in turn increases the blood flow to the genital areas.

  • Liver being loaded with zinc, which is necessary to maintain optimum levels of testosterone. Inadequate zinc levels prevent the pituitary gland from releasing hormones that stimulate testosterone production. 


  • Eggs are high in B5 and B6, which help balance hormone levels and fight stress.
