#GIDIMOMS TIP: Tackling cold in toddlers

If your child has cold, the first thing you should do is wrapping the child in warmth. Next, apply Eucalyptus oil to the back of the ear, the sides of the rib and a few drops on the head. At night just about when the child is about to go to bed, put some drops of eucalyptus oil on the pillow, that way, your child is able to inhale the menthol in the oil. Eucalyptus oil can clear stuffy nose, and relief headache associated with cold.

Honey soothes cough, so be sure to give it in small amount to your child and try not to be excessive in administering it to your child.

When your child has cold, Vitamin C becomes necessary so you must remember to give him/her the daily dose of Vitamin C appropriate for his age. You should also give him foods rich in Vitamin C like Citrus. And lastly, teach him good hygiene so he does not spread the cold.
